Whether you are just starting your journey with horses, or have been around them your whole life and are looking to deepen your connection, Meadowlands is a place where we nurture the relationships between humans and their equine companions.
Meet our team..
Tracey was born horse crazy and started her journey with horses at the age of 8. For the first 2 decades she was dedicated to the competitive sport of Show Jumping. She competed successfully throughout Western Canada in the high Jr/Amatuer levels. During these years Tracey had the opportunity to ride with and work for some of the top Show Jumping trainers in the country.
The opportunity to start training and working with young horses quickly took Tracey's focus away from the competitive world. She became aware of the importance of developing a strong foundation in horses during the early and crucial years of their development. This brought her to the study of Natural Horsemanship. For the last 17 years, Tracey has studied under and been mentored by some of the top natural horsemen and women in the world.
Today, Tracey is more than ever a student of the horse. Her inspiration to continue her life long education is one of her best attributes as a teacher - always fresh with ideas and inspiration to bring to her students.
She remains passionate about developing young horses, building a strong foundation in her charges, helping them gain the confidence and competence to be successful in their lives, no matter what discipline they go into.
Jayd is a qualified equestrian who has been on a lifelong journey with horses for over 16 years. Her love for these magnificent creatures began at the age of four, when she rode her neighbour's horse bareback with a halter. Over the years, she has honed her skills in various disciplines, including showjumping, groundwork, liberty, cowboy dressage, working cattle, pack trips in the mountains and starting young horses.
Jayd's passion for equine wellness led her to work for an Equine Holistic Veterinarian for four years, where she gained invaluable experience in preventative medicine, rehabbing and treating horses. With Dr. Heather Mack she has provided sports therapy to some of the top equine athletes in the world, in Calgary, Alberta, and Southern California.
While her heart lies in the world of showjumping, Jayd finds the most rewarding part of working with horses to be incorporating groundwork and liberty training into all disciplines. In 2019 Tracey Skinner and Tracey’s mentor Jonathan Field, introduced her to a different type of connection you can have with horses. Since then, she has been developing her art under some top professionals, and is excited to continue working with Tracey to develop her own, and other riders relationships with themselves and their horses.
After graduating from high school, Jayd made the bold decision to pursue sciences online to make time for her work with horses and training to be a pilates instructor. She is passionate about working with both horses and people and believes that the two go hand in hand. With her vast experience and unwavering dedication, Jayd is poised to make a significant impact in the equestrian world.
