Having played polo for many years, I thought I could ride. Turns out I was just scratching the surface. Tracey and her thoughtful approach to horsemanship have brought me to a new level of understanding of effective leadership/communication, body control (mine and the horse’s) and the way horses learn. As a result, on a daily basis my young horse and I are progressing with new challenges, skills and experiences– and having loads of fun along the way!
It had been years since I used to compete in ODEs, showjumping, gymkhanas, go on hunts, trail ride, etc. I did all of this from an early age and the way I had always been trained to ride was "I am the boss and I make my horse do what I want it to do". This seems very forceful and surface level, compared to what I know now. When looking to get back in the saddle, I was in search of the 'right' place. Thanks to Tracey & Alice, I felt very at home at Meadowlands and now understand a whole new approach that has transformed how I ride. It all starts with connecting to the horse on a much deeper level & diagnosing where to focus your training.
Tracey safely and positively challenges my beliefs in what is possible. I’m thrilled to be working with such a talented and knowledgeable trainer.
Through horsemanship, Tracey has facilitated a beautiful journey for me and my horses. It is one I could not have imagined and it continues to inspire and humble me as we continue to learn.
